Arrival & Impressions
I arrived at Charles de Gaulle International airport. Tried to figure out the train system and after 5 minutes hopped in a taxi as I was in a rush. I think it cost me about 60 Euros to the 8th near the Champs Elysees. It about 30 minutes or so. Taxi was very old and smelled like an onion. If you speak french then France is a very nice place. If you don't understand it's nice too but you might get the wrong impression. Paris is a great place to do business as there are good restaurants everywhere and getting arround by metro is very fast. You have many business centers where you can pop in and do some work like Regus for example. I think they have 12 offices in Paris...

Business Etiquette
French people prefer intellectual discussion then the usual shallow chit chat. They like to dress up, eat well and water themselves with good wines. They dress quite conservatively but do have a sense of fashion. I would say about 50% speak good English and the rest so so. If you’re coming from far bring one of your local wines as a gift. They will complain that other countries don't make good wines but it will be appreciated At the same time it's not an over the top gift.
Tips & Suggestions
Stay far away from tourist traps. Food in Paris can be the best and worst. Know where you eat. Make sure you ask the hotel where you are staying if they have internet and AC. Although things are getting better it not there quite yet. If you take a taxi to the airport make sure you leave far ahead of your flight as thraffic can be bad. It can take up to an hour and a half for a route that would normally takes 25 minutes. Remember Paris is like New York. People are in a rush and don't have time to be nice.
