New Network upgrades business travelers to SkyLounge

New York, NY February 5 th, 2008 – Many business travelers have joined Facebook, and other networking sites to find out that they are tagged as parents showing up at a teenage party. A new network offers business travelers an appropriate destination in cyber space.

The site is located at www.skylounge.com and concentrates on business travelers that want to network before, during and after their trips. Members can see where their contacts are at any time in the world and expand their business network at the click of a button.  The average membership age is 35 and the majority of members hold management positions.

“I joined several social networks but soon found that I was at least 10 years older then most members” said real estate consultant Markus Lyshaug. “SkyLounge gives me the opportunity to network with people I have something in common with.”

SkyLounge does not allow any scribbling or commenting on member profiles.

“Adding a comment to someone’s profile can seem like innocent fun but it can have serious consequences” said founder Marcel van Gemerden. “Banks, employers, business partners, etc. use this information on a daily basis. If they don’t like what they see it could break the deal”.

The site offers a mature setting that allows members to network with other like minded business travelers.

“Business travelers now have a destination” van Gemerden said. “Connecting and networking with the right people could be the difference between a dull non-producing trip and a hole in one.”
